Who is Eligible to Join?

You may be eligible to join the Society of Mayflower Descendants if you can document your descent from one or more of the passengers on the Mayflower voyage of 1620 that terminated on the shores of New England at Plymouth. The following twenty-nine Mayflower passengers are known to have left proven descendants.

How to Apply for Membership

To begin the application process, you should mark your e-mail Subject line: "Request For Information" from the Historian of the Maryland Mayflower Society at the following e-mail address:

It is recommended to print the
Maryland Mayflower Preliminary Review Sheet,
and complete your lineage. This should be mailed to the Maryland Mayflower Society Historian at the following address:

The Historian will advise you on the preparation of an application for membership. Please note that membership will not be conferred until (1) your application has been approved both by the Maryland State Historian and by the Historian General of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, and (2) you have paid all requisite fees and dues.

Initiation Fee and Dues:

A non-refundable application fee is due upon the completion of the membership process; additionally, at that time an initiation fee is also due. The initiation fee is refundable should the line not be approved by the Historian General of our Society.

Types of Membership and Dues:

Annual Membership is open to descendants who are age 18 or older. The annual dues are $35 and are due January 1 of each year; this is payable with your application, and is refundable should the line is rejected by the Historian General of our Society.

Junior Membership is open to descendants who are under the age of 18 years. The annual dues are $15. Life Membership is open to descendants age 18 or older. To eliminate the $35 annual dues, you may pay a one-time fee of $700 at any time after you become a member.

Life membership fees are payable with your application and are refundable should the line is rejected by the Historian General of our Society.

Junior Life Membership is open to descendants under the age of 18 years. The fee of $700 is payable payable with your application and are refundable should the line is rejected by the Historian General of our Society.

Junior Life Members automatically become Life Members and have voting privileges at age 18.
