You may be eligible to join the Society of
Mayflower Descendants if you can document your descent from one or more of the
passengers on the Mayflower voyage of 1620 that terminated on the shores
of New England at Plymouth. The following twenty-nine Mayflower
passengers are known to have left proven descendants.

Each State Society is an autonomous organization, so if you
live in Maryland, you will apply to us for membership in the Mayflower Society.

How to Apply for Membership
To begin the application process, you should mark your
e-mail Subject line: "Request For Information" from the Historian of the
Maryland Mayflower Society at the following e-mail address:

It
is recommended to print the
"Preliminary Review
Worksheet",
and complete your lineage. This should be mailed to the
Maryland Mayflower Society Historian at the following address:

The Historian will advise you on
the preparation of an application for membership. Please note that membership
will not be conferred until (1) your application has been approved both by the
Maryland State Historian and by the Historian General of the General Society of
Mayflower Descendants, and (2) you have paid all requisite fees and dues.
Application Fees and Dues
Filing Fee. A non-refundable filing fee of $50
must accompany each application, which will remain open for further action for
a period of two years. This application fee applies to all
applications. The fee is payable with your application and is not
refundable if the line is rejected or the application forfeited.
Initiation Fee and Dues.
An initiation fee of $25 and membership dues are payable upon the Historian
General's approval of the application papers and subsequent election to the
Society.
Types of Membership and
Dues:
Annual Membership is open to descendants who
are age 18 or older. The annual dues are $35.
Junior Membership is open to descendants who
are under the age of 18 years. The annual dues are $25.
Life Membership is open to descendants age
18 or older. To eliminate the $35 annual dues, you may pay a one-time fee of
$700 at any time after you become a member.
Junior Life Membership is open to
descendants under the age of 18 years. The fee of $700 is payable when
membership is approved. Junior Life Members automatically become Life
Members and have voting privileges at age 18.
